Yet she was undeterred. Terrell worked tirelessly throughout her life for the uplift of women, children and "colored" people. She led by example in unpaid positions in a wide variety of organizations, boards, and committees. Terrell was no mere figurehead - she was a foot soldier for her beliefs.
